New pages for the Dwyers and ‘Cake Boss,’ looking for art to go with my stories!

I just added a couple thing into my “Written Portraits” collection — a feature on a Jersey City couple that creates drum sets and glass jewelry at home (coolest people ever) — and an interview with the “Cake Boss.”

Also, I am looking to add another layer of meaning to each of my short stories with artwork. I will totally give artists credit and pitch their images with my stories if I try to get it published. E-mail me (summerhortillosa@gmail.com) for a list of the stories I have so far and further details, etc. if you’d like to work with me!

It is probably important to note that while I don’t want a scene out of the blue that has nothing to do with the story, I am looking more for a companion piece that captures the mood, themes, motivations, etc. of the story rather than one that illustrates one of the moments in the piece.

If it helps, consider — how do you respond emotionally to the piece?

Here are my blogged short stories which will be entering my portfolio in this order:

Crushing
Transformer
Good Understanding
Inoperable
Totally Engaged

I already have my good friends April Sison and Erica Garcia on the move, so that’s awesome. =) I’m so excited!
