This week I got to do some pretty awesome field reporting! I rode a ferry for the first time while covering the reopening of repaired ferry slips in Hoboken and got to rehearse with the tiniest dancers in Nimbus Dance Works’ upcoming production of “Jersey City Nutcracker.” I will even get to be in one of the performances! I’m so excited! I finished up the week with an interview with the Adnan Kwara, the owner of Ibby’s Falafel, an amazing joint with locations in Jersey City, Hoboken and Freehold. He was super nice, had the most awesome Jersey/Syrian accent (haha, it sounds weird, but it was actually pretty cool) and gave me some delicious falafel!

Next week is also going to be pretty cool. I’m covering Hoboken’s celebration of Frank Sinatra’s birthday, interviewing with the Downtown Urban Theater Festival to see if my play “Secrets; Love” makes it all the way, performing in “Jersey City Nutcracker” and performing a piece about Christ’s birth at my friend Kevin Thompson’s church.

Speaking of Kevin, the two of us have some big plans and we’re planning to collaborate on several projects. We’re even going to start our own production company. Here’s to hoping it all goes well!
