Rock music, art and staying open past 7 p.m. on West Side Avenue?! The impossible came true at SOYES! Cafe and Gallery, 554 West Side Ave., Jersey City, where artist Michael DiFeo’s art show opened tonight.
Near Lexington Avenue, the cafe isn’t too far from where I live, so it’s nice to have something in my hood. Usually, the main street is fairly lively in the daytime and completely dead at night. There was a good turn-out and everyone seemed to be having a pretty good time. Several bands, including The Sticky Bandits, Creatures of the Wheel and Trash Executioner performed.
I met Michael and also ran into local artist Andrea McKenna. I saw both their work last night during JC Fridays at Art House Productions’ “Progression” show.
Here are some snaps from the event. I hope I get to do an article on this for a news publication some time soon!
