A day in photos

I got bored so decided to do a day in photos. As an arts journalist, art lover and creator of art, I have a pretty hectic life. This is but one day in my shoes.

7:20 a.m. – Wake up unusually early. Begin planning out day, arranging interviews, listing tasks and items needed for my upcoming play “Secrets; Love.”

10:20 a.m. – Make copies of “Secrets; Love” posters at Staples.

12:08 p.m. – Head to New York City to find some props and production items, like glow-in-the-dark tape at the Da Vinci Art Supply store!

1:14 p.m. – Lunch break at Lunch Box Buffet on 34th Street, one of my favorite places to eat in Midtown Manhattan! It’s changed a lot in the past year but they’re food is still pretty good quality and still insanely cheap. One of the few places you can get fresh pastries for about $1 to $1.50 each and get $5 lunch. Their Chinese food and baked goods are all awesome!

Really though, I came for the steamed roast pork buns.

1:54 p.m. – Get repeatedly reminded what month it is. Thanks, JC Penney, I almost forgot.

2:26 p.m. – Shop for a new shirt at Newport Mall in Jersey City, have hard time deciding between spacey deer…or angry tiger. Ultimately get both and head over to the Monroe Center to look at the Monroe Theaterspace with Assistant Director Liliane Wolf.

4 p.m. – See Monroe Theaterspace. Forget to take pictures in the hussle and bussle.

5 p.m. – Meet with French painter Clair Arthur with translation help from Monroe Center artist Francine Demeulenaere.

5:18 p.m. – Visit Francine’s studio with Lili and Clair.

5:22 p.m. – Discover Francine’s adorable pink ukulele and rock out!

5:33 p.m. – Meet Tariq Shaw in Francine’s studio, who plays us classic rock tunes on his guitar, like The Rolling Stones!

5:45 p.m. – Taste-test All Kinds of Whoopie pies by Adriana Jaworski – the goodies will be sold at the “Secrets; Love” concessions stand. She made us guava, banana rum and tres leches flavors to try!

6:30 p.m. – Get all our props together and start rehearsal!

And the rest is top secret. Not the most exciting day in my life ever, but a pretty typical one as far as this month goes. Anyhow, I’m off to sleep. Tomorrow – on to another adventure!
