Harrison Street Hijinks in Hoboken: PVS Gallery and Barsky Gallery

Today I went with my dear friend Khier Casino to several awesome places in Hoboken on Harrison Street, which is a little off the beaten path, but is known to have great gems for art enthusiasts.

Here are some shots from the latest exhibit at PVS, 49 Harrison St., which houses rental studios and an art gallery. “Obscure Dignitaries” shows the intriguing work of John Selburg and will be up until May 11. PVS is open by appointment only.

Hover your mouse over the pictures for full captions.

As a bonus, check out shots of some of PVS’ fine staff and Khier chilling on their cool furniture on their cool stage.

Khier and I then headed next door to the newly opened Barsky Gallery and spoke to owner and curator Al Barsky. The gallery contains work by both local and international artists. The gallery is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on weekends by appointment.

Coming up next – shots from our trip to Revival Vintage, also on Harrison Street, and our journey with our friend Chris Sanchez to the Art House Productions monthly open mic in Jersey City featuring poet Jessica Nelson.
