3:21 p.m. – Leave West Side
4:05 p.m. – Hell-o, Newport Mall!
4:07 p.m. – Catch up with an old friend, Nate Kelly, an English teacher at McNair Academic, my alma mater.
4:38 p.m. – Walk to Hoboken.
4:54 p.m. – Pass 300 Washington St., where a four-alarm fire ripped through a building in February.
5:03 p.m. – Stop by the Lana Santorelli Gallery to say hi to Jay, Jen and Bess.
6:24 p.m. – Run into Greg Strid of Unpainted Emporium, which directs events for local nonprofits, at Panera.
6:53 p.m. – See a press conference in progress, jump in to take shots for Travis Fedschun, my successor as the Hoboken reporter at The Jersey Journal.
7:17 p.m. – Head back to Jersey City.
8:02 p.m. – Pop into the opening reception for “In The City” at Steam Cafe.
8:33 p.m. – Run into tpoy kng M.G. DeGuzman at Starbucks. Head home on the 80.
What a whirlwind afternoon/evening. A little wildlife here. A politician or two there. The waterfront walkway. Lots of art. Even me eating a cookie beside my photo in the show at Steam. Variety is the spice of life, and you’re living well.
