VIDEO: ‘Senses’ by Summer Dawn Hortillosa, from ‘Kookspeak’

So on Monday, I had the awesome experience of shooting a video in the Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theatre, a gorgeous movie palace in Journal Square, Jersey City. The Friends of the Loew’s, who restored the theater and currently run events like old movies every weekend, art exhibits, the Golden Door Film Festival and more, were awesome enough to let us use it. See, shooting at the Loew’s is usually something that you only see people like, uh, The Strokes do.

I’m super proud of how the video came out! Much thanks to Colin Egan and Pattie Giordan of the Loew’s, and of course, to my videographer Brett Wilshe (hit him up at bwilshe[at] for gigs) and my co-star John Feuerbach (yes, he’s the bassist for Life Eaters, you sharp-eyed music lover, you).

I’m super excited about my show and am rehearsing like crazy! If you’re excited too and you’re in the NY-NJ area, come see me and other performers in the So Low Theater Festival next week. More details here. If you’re straight to the point and just want tickets, click here.

ALSO — got a sweet article in The Jersey Journal about my show and the festival! Thanks, Ana Ferrer and Lois DiTommaso!
