Our Kickstarter campaign for “So What If I Loved You,” my upcoming multimedia one-woman show, launched yesterday! Our goal is to raise $1,500 by May 31st. Any amount helps–our goal could be reached if 150 people donated just $10!
Please donate to our campaign today and help make SWIILY happen!
Being a small, independent company, 68 Productions has to build all its shows from scratch. This means finding rehearsal space, performance space, and renting necessary equipment. While co-founder Summer Dawn Hortillosa and Liliane Wolf are stable forces in the equation, we bring in new crew members for basically every play. For SWIILY, we’re super blessed to have a top-notch crew of theater professionals and talented, creative souls.
For SWIILY, we may have to rent some lighting equipment, which can be super expensive, and produce an entire short film to accent and bring out the imagery latent in the show’s text. We have to artfully blend video, music and theater to bring this story to life. We will also run our own guerrilla promotion campaigns, make our own gourmet chocolate bark for concessions, and oversee various production departments all while rehearsing to put on a great show. Fortunately, we’ve done this all before.
Though 68P was founded in 2012, its founders have been working together since 2007 and know the theater game well. We’ve had to manage huge casts, deal with MIA cast or crew members and even replace a lead actress a month into the game. We’re adaptive, determined and just a little bit obsessed with our work. (OK, a lot.) SWIILY is going to be a big undertaking, but we know we have the passion, drive and skill to do it! Please help us continue bringing original theater to the New York-New Jersey area!
If you live in Jersey City, you can get a sneak peek of #swiily at Personal and Universal, the opening gala for our venue, Merseles Studios, 339 Newark Ave., today at 6 pm. Tickets are $20.
